Wednesday, November 4, 1868 – “I was doing chores to day.”

This has been a fine day. I was doing chores to day. Jim came home this morning. Andrew Strangeway was up here making cider to day. George Gladston was with him. M. Tuttle was down here with some apples to make cider to night. D. Black was up here this morning after his cider. Jim Douglas went down by this forenoon. He took home his hired girl. Her name is Little-John. She lives in Terry Clove. Hamden Del. Co New York. Jim Douglas did not go home to night. 1868 Brushland
