Monday, August 31, 1868 - "Seymour and Blair went on a tear..."

This is a tolerable fine day. It rained some to day. This is the last day of August 1868. Some of the folks are over to Andes to day. I did not do much today, you may bet. The wind is South to day. One year ago to day. I was cuting oats. 1867.
Mary Liddle and Cill Liddle were down here to day but did not stay long.

Seymour and Blair went on a tear,
To get the public plunder,
Blair fell down and broke his crown,
And Seymour went to thunder.
