Thursday, August 13, 1868 - "Smart Witty and Wise."

This has been a fine day. I was cuting oats to day. I was also binding oats this afternoon. 1868.
Jane Gill was in here to night. She is up to A. Liddles.
A. Boyd finished haying today. Brushland.
Every thing is quiet and still at present.

What is the best way to keep a gentleman’s affections? Not to return them.
When are Soldiers like good flannels? When they don’t shrink.
Smart Witty and Wise.
